About us

The Flexible Cork Company has been designing and manufacturing highly advanced rubber bonded cork materials since 1945.

From its expertise in this area, Tiflex developed a cricket ball core which was used for many years by some of the top brands within the sport. As the game evolved into the modern era, Tiflex decided in 2001 to evolve the ball further. With help from this past experience and our multi-million pound Research and Development facility; we have designed, formulated and manufactured our own cricket balls. Bringing the ball from a once cottage industry commodity, to a highly advanced modern day product.

We are the only cricket ball manufacturer to create a ball through every process of its construction. From the initial design, manufacturing of the formulated core, to the development of our own leather tanning and redesigning the techniques involved in hand stitching. Once the ball is assembled, we test it under vigorous laboratory conditions, giving players a cricket ball with outstanding consistency and performance in all formats of the game.

We are experts in the field of impact and vibration absorbing compounds, particularly where recovery of the compound to its pre-impact state is a key requirement. Many of the products we manufacture are important to our everyday lives, as they are used in such situations for absorbing vibrations in buildings caused by underground railways, in rail tracks caused by trains and in factories caused by machinery to name but a few.

We have bought our huge technological experience of thermoplastics, elastomers, plus synthetic and natural rubbers to challenge the cricket ball industry.
